Team

Network-aware exchange.
Research-grounded team.

Enleashed combines formal market mechanism design, energy systems engineering, finance strategy and commercial execution. The founding team brings the research depth and practical experience needed to build exchange infrastructure — not just a product.

Shaun Sweeney
Founder & CEO

Designing the market infrastructure for a network-aware energy exchange.

Shaun is the founder of Enleashed and the architect of its core mechanism design. His work focuses on how a network-aware exchange can coordinate generators, suppliers, and asset owners in real time — with price signals grounded in physical network state rather than system-average abstractions.

At Imperial College London, Shaun developed formal mathematical foundations for real-time electricity market coordination, including scarcity-aware allocation, programmable fairness rules, and mechanisms for cyber-physical energy systems. Enleashed turns that work into an exchange where price reflects physical reality, dispatch is network-constrained, and settlement is evidence-backed.

Mechanism design

Allocation rules, scarcity coordination, cost-causation pricing and programmable fairness in electricity markets

Network-aware exchange

Holarchic market architecture, network state inference, bounded local price signals, and constrained dispatch

Energy systems

DER integration, DSO flexibility, local constraint costs, network data integration and practical market design

Product strategy

Exchange architecture, asset registration, participant onboarding, evidence generation and route-to-market

Blake Penney
Blake Penney
Co-Founder & CFO

Turning exchange infrastructure into a credible commercial platform.

Blake leads finance, capital strategy and commercial structuring at Enleashed. His role is to ensure the company translates deep technical advantage into a fundable, scalable product — with the right business model, the right commercial positioning, and the right capital strategy to build exchange infrastructure that can operate at market scale.

Exchange infrastructure is not just a technical idea — it is a market entry strategy. Blake shapes how the company captures value while remaining aligned with the central thesis: fair price, network-aware dispatch, and transparent settlement for every participant.

Finance

Capital strategy, financial modelling, fundraising and infrastructure investment logic for market-building companies

Commercial strategy

Business model design, customer positioning, partnerships and go-to-market for exchange and platform businesses

Market entry

Practical deployment pathways for flexibility market infrastructure, DSO pilots and generator or supplier onboarding

Execution

Operating cadence, prioritisation, diligence readiness and commercial decision support for early-stage infrastructure ventures

We are building the engineering team.

Following our first funding round, we are looking for engineers who want to build exchange infrastructure for the energy transition. If you care about climate, distributed energy, and technically demanding market-design problems, we want to hear from you.

Backend / Systems

Exchange and settlement engineer

Build the exchange engine, market clearing logic, network state inference, and settlement evidence infrastructure. Experience with Python, time-series data, optimisation or auction theory useful.

Data / Integration

Network data integration engineer

Build integrations for DNO/DSO network datasets, asset-level metering, and real-time grid state. Work on data pipelines, constraint modelling, and network-aware dispatch evidence.
